Our Pet Policy for Vacation Rentals
At Big Bear Experiences, we know that family vacations often include your furry family members. We’re proud to offer a selection of pet-friendly cabins so you can bring your dog along for the mountain adventure.
Whether you're hiking alpine trails or curling up by the fireplace, your pup is welcome to join—just be sure to follow a few simple guidelines so everyone, including our four-legged guests, can enjoy a safe and comfortable stay.
How to Bring Your Pet
1. Pre-Register Your Pet
Please let us know at the time of booking if you plan to bring a dog.
Decided last-minute? No problem. As long as you're booked in a pet-friendly home, we can add your dog to the reservation—just reach out before check-in.
2. Pet Fee
A nightly fee of $30 per dog will be added to your reservation.
This helps us provide the extra cleaning and care needed to ensure the home is fresh and welcoming for future guests. Additional charges may apply for damage or excessive cleaning.
House Rules for Dogs
Dogs Only, Please
We love all animals—but at this time, only dogs are allowed in our pet-friendly homes. Unfortunately, we do not accommodate cats or other pets.
Leash & Supervision
-
Dogs must be leashed in public areas at all times, as required by local ordinance.
-
Never leave your dog unattended in the home or yard, even for short periods. Unfamiliar environments can cause anxiety or damage.
Noise & Behavior
-
Please ensure your dog is well-behaved and does not bark excessively or disturb neighbors.
-
Aggressive or disruptive behavior is grounds for early termination of your stay without refund.
Clean-Up
-
Always pick up after your pet, both on the property and around the neighborhood.
-
Please bring your own waste bags and scooper. Let’s keep Big Bear beautiful!
Furniture & Bedding
-
Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture.
-
Bring your pet’s favorite blanket or dog bed to help them settle in comfortably.
-
If evidence of pets on furniture is found, a cleaning fee will be assessed.
Additional Notes
Pet Limits
Each pet-friendly property has its own policy regarding the number of dogs allowed. Most homes accommodate up to two dogs, though some allow three. Please confirm during booking.
Accidents Happen
If your pet damages something or has an accident, just let us know right away. We appreciate the heads-up and can often resolve the issue quickly with minimal impact.
Tips for Pet Safety in the Mountains
-
Always carry water and a collapsible bowl—many trails don’t have natural water sources.
-
Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat hours.
-
Be aware of wildlife, including coyotes and bears, and never let your dog roam off-leash.
